Been a Long Week....

.....and it's only Tuesday!

It sure seems like it should be later in the week! Maybe it is because we were gone most of the day yesterday.

We had a VA appointment in the big city of Lincoln. They were sending me to a Dermatologist to check some spots on my ears to see if it was skin Cancer.
Thankfully, they said it was "Pre-Cancerous something-or-others". They ended up getting out the nitrogen bottle and freezing them. They are still there, but the doctor said it might take a week or more for them to be gone.

That was actually one of the last things we did on the trip. We got to town just before noon, so we went out to have lunch for Deb's Birthday (she's 21 again this year.....).

We sat next to a table with 5 or 6 girls in their early 20's. One of them happened to be celebrating a birthday, also. We were even asked to take a picture of them (their camera....). It was kinda nifty to be seated at the next table of someone else having a birthday dinner.

After that, we made a quick trip to WalMart and then home.

I was real proud of Deb (even though it's not "out of character" for her to do this....) at WalMart.

We collected what we were buying, then headed through the check outs. All was well until we were unloading the cart into the truck outside. Everything was in the truck, when Deb picked up her purse so she could return the cart. Under her purse was a Slotted Cooking Spoon that we didn't pay for.

Instead of tossing it into the truck and being thrilled at cheating Wally out of the $5, Deb grabs it and goes back inside to pay for it. I followed her in to make sure there wasn't going to be a problem.

The guy at the checkout told her that 99% of people would have just kept going.

Honesty and integrity are indeed a virtue....

  1. Sure tell the embarrassing story about me almost stealing, on your blog! Least you didn't tell the cake one! *giggle* And while yes we seem to be low on money all the time, there is no way I'm going to knowingly walk out of a store without paying for something....or continue on, if I find out I DID! Its just not right.
